What candidates take
One 50-question assessment that combines three well-known instruments. Candidates rate statements on a five-point scale from their phone, can pause and come back, and usually finish in 10 to 15 minutes.
- Big Five: conscientiousness, composure, curiosity, teamwork and sociability.
- DISC: drive, influence, steadiness and accuracy at work.
- Enneagram: core motivation, shown as a type from 1 to 9.
The assessment goes out automatically when someone passes screening (if auto-advance is on), or when you move them to Assessment sent. A reminder text goes out after 48 hours if they haven't finished.
Reading the Moxie DNA score
Moxie DNA compares the results to a benchmark for the role the candidate applied for. A master technician benchmark weights conscientiousness and accuracy heavily; a service advisor benchmark weights warmth and influence.
| Score | Band | How to use it |
|---|---|---|
| 75 to 100 | Strong fit | Call first. Use the interview to confirm skills. |
| 55 to 74 | Moderate fit | Worth a conversation. Look at which traits are below the benchmark and ask about them. |
| 0 to 54 | Low fit | Not a no. Check whether another role, like advisor instead of tech, fits better. |
Open a candidate and go to the Assessment tab to see each trait against the benchmark and their fit for every other role at your shop.
One input, not the decision
Use it responsibly
Fit scores never reject anyone automatically. Use them to decide who to call first and what to ask, alongside the interview, scorecard, references and a road test. Treat every candidate for a role the same way: send everyone the assessment, or no one.
Candidates with a disability can ask for an accommodation, such as more time or a different format. Reply to their message and move them forward without the assessment if needed.
